About the Role

• Lead estimating efforts on large, complex projects and prepare full cost models. • Generate conceptual and detailed self‑perform work estimates. • Organize research, pricing, scheduling, and submit estimates on time. • Identify subcontractors, manage bidding process, and incorporate proposals. • Assign tasks to the estimating team and ensure data accuracy. • Conduct quantity surveys, cost estimates, and review subcontractor proposals. • Research tax laws, collective bargaining agreements, permits, and historic project data. • Write and submit RFIs; maintain communication with owners, architects, engineers, and team members. • Assist in selecting building systems, software programs, and project scheduling. • Lead, train, mentor, and evaluate estimators.

What You Bring

Mortenson is seeking a Senior Estimator I who can interact with staff at all levels, remain flexible in a changing environment, and maintain professionalism and confidentiality. The role leads the preparation and finalization of full estimates for large, complex projects. The company provides equal employment opportunity, requires legal authorization to work in the U.S. without visa sponsorship, and does not accept unsolicited agency solicitations. • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience. • Minimum nine years of construction industry experience, including six years in estimating. • LEED AP or DBIA certification preferred. • Strong organization, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple complex projects. • Understanding of construction law and standard business practices. • Excellent customer service, teamwork, communication, problem‑solving, and leadership skills. • Proficient with estimating software such as ISqFt, ICE/Bid2Win, OST, Bluebeam, and Google Earth. • Valid driver’s license.
