About the Role
We are seeking a Data Governance Platform Specialist to lead the technical implementation and operation of our enterprise data governance and cataloging platform. The role involves installing, configuring, integrating, and maintaining the platform, as well as enabling metadata ingestion, data profiling, lineage, and quality automation. The specialist will collaborate closely with Data Governance leadership, data engineering, security, cloud architects, and data stewards to embed governance tooling throughout our data ecosystem. The position offers a hybrid work schedule based in Houston or Dallas, Texas. As an Equal Opportunity Employer, AECOM values every employee’s potential and maintains confidentiality of all personal information in accordance with EEO guidelines. • Install, configure, and maintain the enterprise data governance and cataloging platform, including upgrades and patching. • Set up metadata models, asset types, workflows, and role‑based permissions within the platform. • Monitor platform performance, availability, and reliability, and troubleshoot technical issues. • Build automated metadata ingestion pipelines using native connectors, APIs, and ETL/ELT frameworks. • Conduct data profiling with SQL and platform tools to support data quality and readiness initiatives. • Integrate the governance platform with data warehouses, cloud data lakes, BI/reporting tools, and SharePoint. • Enable and validate technical data lineage across ingestion, transformation, and consumption layers. • Implement data classification and tagging to identify sensitive data and meet compliance requirements. • Serve as primary technical support owner, resolving configuration, integration, and user‑reported issues. • Configure and maintain role‑based access controls aligned with governance and security policies. • Support user onboarding and deprovisioning from a technical configuration perspective. • Develop and deliver technical training, onboarding materials, and usage guidance for analysts and stewards. • Maintain operational documentation, configuration standards, and troubleshooting guides. • Translate governance requirements into platform configurations in partnership with leadership. • Collaborate with data engineering, cloud, security, and privacy teams to embed governance tooling. • Provide technical guidance to Data Governance Analysts and stewards on metadata standards.

What You Bring
The role requires a bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Data Science, Computer Science or a related field, plus at least eight years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Candidates must have hands‑on experience administering data governance platforms such as Alation, Collibra, BigID, or AWS DataZone, and be proficient with Oracle databases, enterprise data warehouses, and AWS‑based data services, with exposure to Azure. • Possess strong SQL and scripting skills to automate ingestion, integration, and analysis tasks. • Experience integrating governance platforms with Oracle and AWS data services using APIs and ETL/ELT. • Knowledge of data privacy, security, and compliance related to metadata, classification, and access controls. • Understanding of cloud‑native data platforms, especially AWS, and familiarity with Azure services. • Experience using workflow orchestration tools to manage metadata ingestion and profiling processes.

Benefits
Sponsorship for U.S. work authorization and relocation assistance are not available for this position. The compensation range is $140,000 to $175,000 per year, and the role follows a hybrid work model.
