About the Role

The Tax Manager will join a fast‑moving finance team within an agile business, reporting to the Director of Financial Reporting & Tax and working closely with the CFO and senior management. The role’s primary aim is to manage and improve tax processes, ensure compliance obligations are met and act as a trusted business partner across the organisation. The position covers a broad scope of tax and transfer‑pricing activities, supporting the implementation of Rolls‑Royce’s Tax Risk Management Strategy and contributing to group reporting, provisioning and financial statement disclosures. • Serve as tax subject matter expert, own tax business processes and advise on transactions/projects. • Manage UK and international direct and indirect tax compliance, meeting all deadlines and coordinating external advisers. • Oversee tax aspects of group reporting, provisioning and financial statement disclosures. • Partner with business units to provide tax advice for transactions and ad‑hoc projects. • Build and maintain in‑house tax knowledge covering UK (e.g., long funding leases, CIR rules) and international tax (e.g., withholding tax, closing locations). • Own and update tax process manuals for compliance, VAT, Intrastat and act as risk owner for tax risks. • Develop and maintain the tax risk register, supervise SAO reporting and advise senior management on emerging tax risks such as Pillar 2, DAC6 and BEPS.

What You Bring

Candidates must be a qualified chartered tax accountant (CTA) or chartered accountant (CA, ACA, ACCA) with post‑qualification experience in a tax manager role, and possess strong UK and international tax technical knowledge. Preferred experience includes multi‑GAAP accounting, US tax regulations, advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills, and familiarity with systems such as Sun Systems, Hyperion or Salesforce. • Hold a CTA or CA/ACA/ACCA qualification with post‑qualification tax manager experience. • Demonstrate strong UK tax technical expertise and experience advising on international transactions. • Possess general accounting knowledge, including multi‑GAAP and US GAAP, and working knowledge of US tax regulations (preferred). • Advanced proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint and financial modelling; strong written communication and commercial acumen. • Familiarity with Sun Systems, Hyperion, Salesforce or similar accounts production software (plus). • Ability to identify, communicate and mitigate key risks while partnering with the business.
