About the Role
As a Senior Regional HSEQ Manager you will play a key leadership role in driving Zero Harm excellence across Downer’s Energy & Utilities business. Partnering with operational leaders, you will embed a consistent and mature Zero Harm culture through proactive strategies, coaching, innovation, and best‑practice risk management. You will act as a trusted business partner, supporting, advising and influencing at all levels to ensure safe, sustainable, high‑quality outcomes for the communities we serve.

What You Bring
We are looking for an experienced HSEQ leader with strong technical knowledge, credible influence and a proactive mindset who can thrive in a dynamic, high‑risk operational environment. The ideal candidate will partner with stakeholders of all levels, bringing high emotional intelligence, personal resilience and a continuous‑improvement mindset to the role. • 5+ years experience as a Health, Safety & Environment professional, preferably in construction, infrastructure, or high‑risk industries. • At least 2 years leading and developing high‑performing HSEQ teams. • Diploma or Advanced Diploma in Health & Safety (or equivalent); Lead ICAM and Internal Auditor qualifications desirable. • Strong knowledge of regulatory frameworks, compliance obligations and risk‑management methods such as Critical Risk and Bow‑Tie. • Experience leading investigations, audits, corrective actions and reporting. • Advanced data‑analysis and reporting skills, e.g., Power BI. • Proven ability to influence, coach and build relationships across operational teams and senior leadership. • High emotional intelligence, personal resilience and continuous‑improvement mindset. • Flexibility to travel, work overtime or night shifts as operational needs require. • Senior leadership role with genuine influence over cultural and operational transformation. • Ability to contribute to award‑winning safety performance across critical‑infrastructure operations.
