About the Role

The Mechanical Assembler prepares bulk container handling equipment through mechanical and simple electrical assemblies, following Busse machine drawings, assembly drawings, control schematics, and bills of materials. The role involves problem solving and eliminating non‑value‑added work while maintaining quality workmanship and efficiency. The assembler uses hand tools to perform structural, mechanical drive, fluid control, guard and cover, and simple electrical assemblies. They conduct quality assurance checks per Busse Blue Books, document labor, material usage, and scrap, and follow inventory re‑ordering policies such as Kanban. Preparation of equipment for shipment, including machine teardown, is also required. • Build equipment using Busse machine drawings, assembly drawings, and control schematics. • Perform structural, mechanical drive, fluid control, guard/cover, and simple electrical assemblies. • Conduct quality assurance checks per Busse Blue Books. • Document labor, material issues/returns, moves, and scrap reports. • Follow Kanban inventory re‑ordering policies. • Prepare equipment for shipment, including machine teardown. • Read and interpret technical documents and blueprints. • Perform basic calculations, use tape measures, and operate standard PC applications.

What You Bring

High school diploma or GED with up to three months related experience (or equivalent combination) is required. Candidates must read and interpret technical documents, write routine reports, perform basic calculations, use a tape measure, and possess basic PC skills. Additional abilities include blueprint reading, multitasking, and effective oral communication. The job involves standing, walking, and frequent stooping, kneeling, or crawling, with occasional lifting up to 100 lb. Workers are exposed to moving mechanical parts and work in moderate physical activity settings without exposure to hazardous chemicals, extreme temperatures, or radiation. No overnight travel is required. • Meet physical requirements: stand, walk, stoop, and lift up to 100 lb.
