About the Role
Mortenson is seeking an Operator who will be responsible for operating equipment as directed while adhering to all safety policies and procedures. The role requires compliance with Mortenson safety regulations and proper housekeeping practices. The Operator will handle a variety of heavy equipment, including blades, dozers, loaders, scrapers, forklifts, cranes, bobcats, aerial lifts, rollers, backhoes, and track cranes. Duties also include following work plans and pre‑task cards, performing routine maintenance, detecting malfunctions, and building relationships with team members from diverse backgrounds. • Operate heavy equipment such as dozers, loaders, cranes, and forklifts. • Follow prescribed safety regulations and maintain orderly housekeeping. • Perform routine maintenance and detect equipment malfunctions. • Execute work plans and pre‑task cards for each job. • Build relationships with team members from diverse backgrounds. • Read and interpret safety rules, manuals, load charts, and perform basic math.

What You Bring
Candidates must possess the required equipment certifications, a valid driver’s license, and at least one year of related experience. Strong teamwork, a positive attitude, professional customer service skills, and the ability to read safety rules, manuals, load charts, and perform basic math are essential. The role also requires independent operation of equipment, active listening, effective communication, and the ability to lift up to 50 lb (with assistance for heavier loads). • Hold required equipment certifications and a valid driver’s license. • Provide at least one year of related operating experience. • Demonstrate teamwork, a positive attitude, and strong customer service. • Lift, carry, push, or pull up to 50 lb (assistance required for heavier loads).
