About the Role
The Controls Field Technician in Aftermarket and Service works with minimal supervision, conducting equipment inspections, preventative maintenance, repairs, and calibrations on HVAC control systems. The role involves interpreting project specifications and drawings, creating graphic function blocks, assembling operation and maintenance manuals, and coordinating material orders. It also requires partnering with sales to set equipment parameters, timelines, and budgets while supporting commissioning activities and documenting as‑built changes. • Perform on‑site preventative maintenance, repairs, and calibration of HVAC controls. • Inspect, test, and troubleshoot building automation systems and associated devices. • Create and read project specifications, MEP drawings, and control shop drawings. • Develop graphic function blocks and floor‑plan graphics for each project. • Assemble operation & maintenance manuals and as‑built documentation. • Coordinate material orders with purchasing and track project completion. • Partner with sales to define equipment needs, timelines, and budget compliance. • Support commissioning by preparing functional checklists and collaborating with commissioning agents.

What You Bring
Candidates must have a high school diploma or GED, at least two years of experience in building automation or HVAC, the ability to work at heights and lift 50 lb, and a valid, insurable driver’s license. Preferred qualifications include an associate or bachelor’s degree, experience with Carrier i‑Vu, AutoCAD, networking, and strong communication skills.
