About the Role
The Heavy Equipment Technician repairs and maintains heavy equipment, compact heavy equipment, light service equipment, and light trucks. Duties include preventive maintenance inspections and work on hydraulic, fuel, exhaust, brakes, suspension, electrical, HVAC, and emission systems. • Diagnose and repair mechanical problems on heavy equipment • Perform preventative maintenance on electrical, diesel and gasoline vehicles • Complete work orders, parts usage documentation, and daily consumables reports • Collect and interpret oil sampling, on‑board computer, and fleet management data • Follow all safety policies, OSHA HazCom, lockout/tagout, and fire protection regulations

What You Bring
Advanced knowledge is required to diagnose and repair mechanical problems on equipment such as excavators, wheel loaders, compactors, diesel and gasoline vehicles. The role involves repairs on engines, transmissions, chassis, drivelines, body components, hydraulic, brake, electrical, suspension, wheels, tires, undercarriages, and overhauls of gas or diesel engines. The technician reads equipment condition reports, communicates with supervisors or operators, documents work orders and consumables, and collects data from oil sampling and fleet management software while adhering to all safety policies and OSHA regulations. Qualifications include at least one year of heavy‑equipment technician experience, ASE certification in air brakes, hydraulics, electrical and drivetrain, and a mechanical trade school certificate or degree. Candidates must have knowledge of Tier 4 emission systems, welding/fabrication skills, and be trained in OSHA HazCom, lockout/tagout, and fire protection regulations.
