About the Role
We have an exciting opportunity for an Estimator to work alongside other estimators in all aspects of tender estimate preparation from commencement to completion. The role involves pricing activities and preparing first‑principles estimates, while developing your skills in water infrastructure construction estimating. • Attend kick-off and design handover meetings. • Review tender documents including design drawings, scope of works, construction methodology, program, specifications and related reports. • Identify and register missing information in tender documents and discuss with stakeholders and designers. • Prepare estimating and pricing activities. • Perform quantity take‑offs and produce bills of quantities. • Source pricing from suppliers and specialist contractors. • Assist evaluating subcontract tenders, undertake clarifications, update pricing and help finalize direct and indirect target costs. • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, estimators and other stakeholders to understand project goals. • Use Candy estimating software to prepare first‑principles estimates. • Attend internal reviews and present estimates to the project delivery team and management. • Coordinate responses to internal and external reviewers’ clarifications on cost estimates. • Prepare target‑cost documents for tender submission.

What You Bring
You are a detail‑oriented Estimator with strong analytical and problem‑solving skills, capable of producing high‑quality work with minimal rework. You thrive in a collaborative team environment and bring effective communication and a proactive approach to every project. You also bring: • Hold a relevant Australian Engineering degree or equivalent overseas qualification; graduate membership of Engineers Australia is an advantage. • Minimum two years’ experience as an estimator in civil infrastructure and water industry projects, with knowledge of other engineering disciplines. • Ability to read and interpret drawings, specifications and contract documents. • Strong knowledge of project management principles in civil infrastructure and water projects. • Experience assisting in tender document preparation, especially measuring bills of quantities and procurement processes. • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). • Experience using Candy/Expert estimating software or ability to learn quickly (Candy preferred).
