About the Role

The incumbent will provide engineering and technical support to the group while delivering administrative assistance to the manager or director. This role includes direct reports of engineers and designers, combines billable client project work with leadership duties, and requires overseeing project schedules, charge engineering, employee development, recruiting, and business development activities. Work is moderately routine, applying general policies with some decision‑making authority. The position influences moderate‑nature decisions and requires a high degree of tact when interacting with stakeholders outside the work group. Supervisory duties include approving timecards and expense reports, assisting with annual performance reviews, and participating in the interview and recruiting processes. The leader also mentors and reviews the work of subordinate engineering professionals. • Coach and mentor engineering staff. • Review subordinate engineers’ work. • Provide technical expertise to identify, analyze, and resolve problems. • Approve timecards and expense reports; support annual performance reviews. • Support recruiting efforts. • Contribute to business development and strategic planning. • Lead project management and responsible charge engineering duties on client projects.

What You Bring

Candidates must hold a Bachelor of Science in Electrical or Civil Engineering, preferably from an ABET‑accredited program, and possess at least six years of engineering experience. A state registration as a Professional Engineer for transmission and substation engineering is required, along with strong communication, mathematical, and analytical abilities. The role involves frequent standing, walking, sitting, and regular verbal communication, with regular use of hands for tools. Physical requirements include occasional climbing, stooping, and lifting up to 10 pounds, while the work environment may be humid, involve exposure to moving mechanical parts, and require clear vision at various distances. • Bachelor of Science in Electrical or Civil Engineering (ABET‑accredited preferred). • Minimum 6 years of engineering experience. • State‑registered Professional Engineer for Transmission and Substation Engineering. • Strong written and oral communication skills, including report writing and presentations. • Proficiency with mathematical concepts, statistical analysis, and technical problem solving.
