About the Role

The Test Technician I is responsible for testing, troubleshooting, and repairing single‑phase and three‑phase medium‑voltage UPS systems. This role demands a strong commitment to quality and continuous improvement across all functions. The technician reads electronic schematics to verify that products meet defined specifications and reports any non‑conformance items using the Quality Management Guidelines. Recommendations for modifications are made to enhance product quality, reliability, manufacturability, and cost‑effectiveness, while equipment is checked for ISO 9000:2000 compliance and the 5S+ methodology is applied to keep the work area clean and organized. • Perform testing, troubleshooting, and repairs on single‑phase and three‑phase medium‑voltage UPS systems. • Read and interpret electronic schematics to verify product specifications. • Report non‑conformance items according to Quality Management Guidelines. • Recommend design modifications to improve quality, reliability, manufacturability, and cost. • Communicate with production staff and engineering teams to resolve production and warranty issues. • Maintain equipment compliance with ISO 9000:2000 and apply 5S+ workplace organization. • Identify and execute corrective actions for tool repair, replacement, and calibration. • Work overtime, including weekends, and flex to different plants as needed.

What You Bring

Effective communication with Production Associates, Quality Engineering Technicians, Manufacturing Engineers, and Test Engineers is essential to resolve daily production and warranty issues. The technician also collaborates on corrective actions for the repair, replacement, and calibration of laboratory tools and manufacturing equipment. Candidates must have a high school diploma or GED, with at least one year of electronics testing and troubleshooting experience. An associate’s degree in electronics is preferred, and applicants must reside within a 50‑mile radius of Raleigh, NC, unless they are active‑duty military personnel. The position requires knowledge of switchboard and switchgear operations, the ability to read formal and informal drawings, and basic Windows computer proficiency.
