Residential Driver - CDL (B)

About the Role

The Driver – CDL (B) safely operates a collection truck to provide prompt, courteous, and complete waste removal services. The driver ensures the vehicle meets the company’s safety standards, complies with all company, state, and federal regulations, and completes daily vehicle condition reports to address any defects promptly. Key responsibilities include conducting thorough pre‑ and post‑operation inspections of tire pressure, fluid levels, safety equipment, gauges, and controls, and reporting any safety issues. The driver follows the assigned route sheet, operates manual or automatic controls to lift, load, compact, and dispose of refuse at the designated facility, and interacts courteously with customers, dispatchers, and coworkers. Drivers must identify and tag unsatisfactory waste containers, monitor waste for unacceptable material, clean accidental spills according to safety policies, and keep the vehicle clean and operationally ready by removing waste from the packer blade and truck body. They complete required route, productivity, and VCR reports, meet productivity standards, follow all safety policies, and participate in the company’s ReSOP program while performing other duties as assigned.
