About the Role
The Production Associate, Machine Operator fabricates parts from steel, copper, or aluminum according to blueprint specifications. The role requires effective communication and teamwork to achieve safety, quality, and productivity objectives. Employees are expected to foster a safe, engaged, and inclusive work culture by following all policies, using personal protective equipment, and performing 5S duties. Compliance with equipment operation standards is also essential. Work is driven by travel documents, blueprints, and oral or written instructions to set up, operate, and perform periodic maintenance. Machines used include tapper, shear, Finn Power, Prima Power, Franklin Punch, vertical and horizontal press brakes, Trumpf laser, Ras, spot welder, Boschert, R41/R5, and Ehrt. Operators must maintain the expected progress of jobs within their area and communicate any concerns appropriately. They also proactively identify opportunities for process improvement and conduct root cause analysis when quality or production issues arise. Quality responsibilities include measuring finished parts with tape measures or calipers, performing visual inspections, identifying nonconforming parts, and troubleshooting errors. Accurate measurement ensures compliance with specifications. • Fabricate steel, copper, or aluminum parts per blueprint specifications. • Operate and maintain diverse machinery such as tapper, shear, laser, spot welder, and press brakes. • Conduct quality checks using tape measures and calipers; identify and address nonconforming parts. • Communicate proactively with team members to meet safety, quality, and productivity goals. • Perform 5S activities and adhere to PPE and safety policies. • Identify process improvements and execute root‑cause analysis for production issues. • Cross‑train to cover additional job functions as required.

What You Bring
Candidates must hold a high school diploma or GED, be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship, and have at least one year of machine‑operator experience or a machine‑certificate program graduation. No relocation benefits are offered. Applicants must reside within a 50‑mile radius of the Sumter facility; only local candidates will be considered. Proximity ensures timely attendance and reduces commute challenges. Preferred experience includes sheet‑metal fabrication with standard punch and bend tooling, reading blueprints and manufacturing diagrams, and using measuring devices such as tape measures and calipers. Strong verbal and written communication, persuasive abilities, and analytical problem‑solving skills are also valued. • Require high school diploma/GED, legal US work authorization, and at least one year of machine‑operator experience or certification. • Must live within 50 mi of the Sumter facility; relocation assistance is not provided. • Preferred background in sheet‑metal fabrication, blueprint reading, and measurement tools; demonstrate strong communication and problem‑solving abilities.
