About the Role

Lab Technician • Drilling and Completions Fluids. This position delivers detailed drilling and completion lab testing and analytical work to support product and system design, project troubleshooting, and performance analysis. The Senior Lab Technician oversees lab operations, ensures equipment readiness, maintains organized workspaces, provides mentorship, supports incident investigations, and collaborates with remote teams to resolve technical inquiries. • Conduct pilot testing of drilling and completion fluids using proposed mud recipes and field samples. • Execute QA/QC procedures on laboratory products. • Repair, maintain, calibrate testing equipment, and plan equipment purchases. • Analyze recovered corrosion coupons and produce technical reports. • Perform core flow tests to select optimal mud cake breaker formulations. • Operate PPA/PPT and laser PSD analyzers to evaluate and design reservoir drill‑in and low‑invasion coring fluids. • Monitor and maintain safe inventory levels of lab consumables and spare parts. • Support incident investigations and root cause analysis. • Keep laboratory space and equipment organized and well‑maintained. • Mentor and supervise DCF lab operations as needed. • Collaborate with remote teams to share technical knowledge and resolve issues promptly.

What You Bring

To be successful, you need a Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering or Petroleum/Mechanical Engineering, at least 7 years of drilling fluids lab experience (10 years preferred), strong expertise in drilling fluids design and API specifications, independent work capability, excellent planning, interpersonal, organizational, analytical and problem‑solving skills, and the ability to travel as required.
