About the Role
The Program Manager, Data Engineering Strategy & Operations partners closely with the Head of Data Engineering to maximize the impact of the data engineering organization. This role provides strategic planning, cross‑functional coordination, executive communications, and operational oversight, ensuring data teams operate efficiently and align with broader organizational objectives. Key responsibilities include developing data and platform strategies, translating objectives into actionable OKRs, and leading annual and quarterly planning processes. The manager also organizes leadership meetings, drives process‑improvement initiatives, establishes governance for project milestones and KPIs, and serves as the primary communication bridge between engineering leadership and stakeholders. • Develop and refine data and platform strategy, translating objectives into OKRs and tracking progress. • Lead annual and quarterly strategic planning, budgeting, and financial management for data engineering. • Organize and facilitate leadership meetings, staff gatherings, and business reviews, driving follow‑ups and action items. • Drive process‑improvement initiatives such as project intake, technical debt management, and KPI definition. • Establish governance models for project milestones, engineering KPIs, and data‑governance compliance. • Translate complex data insights into executive‑level presentations, briefs, and reports. • Serve as primary liaison between Head of Data Engineering, leadership team, and cross‑functional stakeholders. • Foster a collaborative, high‑performing culture and promote creativity, morale, and innovation within data teams.

What You Bring
Successful candidates will hold a bachelor’s degree and bring 7–10 years of program‑management, business‑operations, or consulting experience, preferably within a technology or data‑focused environment. They should possess strong analytical and presentation skills, experience with metrics, KPIs, OKRs, and budget management, and be comfortable influencing cross‑functional teams without direct authority. An MBA, experience leading organizational change, and direct exposure to data engineering or analytics are preferred. • Hold a bachelor’s degree and 7–10 years of program management, business operations, or consulting experience. • Demonstrated success leading complex, cross‑functional projects from ideation to execution. • Strong analytical abilities and ability to create high‑impact executive presentations. • Experience developing and tracking metrics, KPIs, OKRs, and managing budgets. • MBA or advanced degree preferred; experience leading organizational change and transformation. • Direct experience in data engineering or analytics environment is a plus.

Benefits
The position offers a compensation range of $140,000–$175,000, is based on‑site in Austin, Chicago, Dallas, or San Francisco, and does not provide visa sponsorship.
