About the Role

QA/QC Inspectors are responsible for testing, sampling, and inspecting raw materials, fabricated and assembled structures, and industrial processes to ensure they meet required quality standards, with a particular focus on welds and welding procedures. They must interpret engineering drawings, manuals, and specifications, relay process information to welders and supervisors, and coordinate with internal or contracted x‑ray teams to verify weld integrity. • Read and interpret blueprints, manuals, and specifications. • Inspect, approve or reject welds and raw materials per specifications. • Provide process and specification guidance to welders and supervisors. • Test welders for qualifications and coordinate with weld x‑ray teams. • Follow all company directives, safety procedures, and wear required PPE.

What You Bring

The role involves extensive physical activity, including standing, walking, bending, lifting up to 50 lb, and working at heights above 300 ft, while adhering to strict safety protocols and wearing required personal protective equipment. No direct reports are assigned to this position, and candidates with prior experience at Zachry or in industrial welding projects are given preference. • Hold a current Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) certificate. • Possess 3+ years of welding inspection experience. • Demonstrate knowledge of multiple welding processes and associated materials. • Work safely at heights exceeding 300 ft and perform physical tasks such as lifting up to 50 lb. • Possess reliable transportation and required tools. • Exhibit strong teamwork, communication, problem‑solving, and critical‑thinking skills. • Preferred: Current Zachry employee or prior experience with Zachry Industrial; welding experience on industrial construction projects.
