Engineer - Supplier Quality

About the Role

Collaboratively work with suppliers to perform timely root‑cause analysis and develop robust corrective action plans that prevent recurrence of non‑conformance. Identify any gaps in supplier‑submitted documents and follow up for corrections, while fostering overall supplier quality through targeted training and coaching. Oversee quick response and quality control for raised DMRs, evaluate supplier 8D responses, and drive performance improvements for the lowest‑performing suppliers in coordination with the SDE team. Measure success via DMR closure lead time, on‑time closure percentage, DPPM reduction, and DMR recurrence rates, and lead supplier meetings to resolve technical queries. Deliver training sessions on DMR and DPPM procedures to plant personnel, lead Six Sigma, BPI, and digital transformation projects, and develop standardized digital reporting tools such as Power BI dashboards. Conduct QC checks on ready‑to‑close DMRs to ensure compliance with process requirements and promote a continuous‑improvement culture within the team and at supplier sites. • Conduct timely root‑cause analysis with suppliers and establish corrective action plans. • Identify and remediate gaps in supplier documentation. • Provide training and coaching to improve overall supplier quality. • Evaluate supplier 8D responses and ensure rapid DMR closure. • Lead meetings with under‑performing suppliers to address technical issues. • Implement coaching and Poka‑Yoke solutions to reduce DPPM and DMR recurrence. • Deliver DMR and DPPM procedural training to plant staff. • Lead Six Sigma, BPI, and digital transformation initiatives. • Create and maintain standardized digital reports (e.g., Power BI dashboards). • Perform QC checks on DMRs ready for closure to verify process compliance.

What You Bring

Qualifications include a BE/B.Tech in Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics, Production, Industrial, or Aeronautical Engineering, with 6–10 years of experience in supplier development and quality. Required knowledge encompasses problem‑solving and core quality tools, various manufacturing processes, and quality management systems, along with strong strategic thinking, communication, cross‑cultural teamwork, accountability, and time‑management skills.
