About the Role

The Maintenance Technician B works under the guidance of a Lead Technician, Maintenance Supervisor, or Maintenance Manager to repair and maintain diesel and non‑diesel equipment, including chassis components, vehicle refuse bodies, hydraulic and electrical systems, air brakes, engines, HVAC, suspension, drivetrain, and steering. The role also involves basic tire services such as replacement, rotation, and tread depth checks. Technicians enjoy working on a single fleet of advanced vehicles, receiving training on new technologies, and contributing to community and environmental impact. Key duties include performing preventative and corrective maintenance on chassis, refuse bodies, engines, suspension, drivetrain, steering, and HVAC systems, as well as line‑maintenance welding and fabrication. The technician provides safe road service to return equipment to operation efficiently and uses electronic diagnostic tools to identify malfunctions. Completion of company‑mandated training programs and other assigned tasks are also required. • Perform preventative and repair maintenance on chassis, refuse bodies, engines, suspension, drivetrain, steering, HVAC, and air brake systems. • Conduct basic tire services, including replacement, rotation, and tread depth checks. • Execute line‑maintenance welding and fabrication tasks. • Provide safe road service to efficiently return equipment to operation. • Diagnose malfunctions using electronic diagnostic tools. • Complete required company training programs. • Apply work‑order labor time standards and adhere to safety protocols.

What You Bring

Applicants should understand work‑order labor time standards and have experience with Classes 1‑5 light/medium duty and Class 7‑8 heavy‑duty trucks, aircraft, or ships. ASE certifications (T1‑T8) and a Commercial Driver’s License are advantageous but not mandatory. A valid driver’s license and at least one year of relevant technician experience, or graduation from an accredited automotive program within three months, are required. • Possess experience with Classes 1‑8 trucks or related heavy‑vehicle systems; ASE certifications and CDL are a plus. • Maintain a valid driver’s license and meet a minimum of one year of relevant technical experience or recent automotive graduation.
