About the Role
The Safety Engineer will oversee the implementation of HSE policies, monitor performance, and collaborate with managers and contractors to uphold client and legal safety standards. This includes reviewing safety documentation, conducting inspections, leading safety meetings, and managing incident investigations to prevent recurrence. • Implement corporate HSE policies, plans, and legislation. • Monitor HSE performance and targets, recommending improvements. • Ensure client safety requirements are fulfilled. • Liaise with safety managers and contractors to enhance HSE management. • Verify contractor compliance with site safety measures and legal/client standards. • Review contractor‑submitted site safety, emergency, and related plans. • Assess method statements and risk analyses, overseeing hazard controls. • Conduct HSE inspections and report findings for immediate correction. • Review and track contractors' monthly HSE inspection reports. • Lead monthly safety meetings, set objectives, and circulate minutes. • Evaluate emergency preparedness, permit‑to‑work systems, toolbox talks, and HSE records. • Analyze incident/accident investigation reports, share lessons learned, and monitor corrective actions.

What You Bring
Candidates must hold a bachelor’s degree in occupational safety and health or a related engineering discipline and have at least eight years of highway, bridge, and underpass safety engineering experience in the UAE. Relevant certifications such as NEBOSH IGC, Safety Diploma, First Aid, and Fire Safety, along with knowledge of UAE federal laws and Dubai Municipality construction safety codes, are required. Strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential, and experience with ISO 45001:2018 and ISO 14001:2015 audits is preferred.
