About the Role

The Site Civil Engineer will lead the design and planning of diverse civil engineering projects, covering site layouts, grading, drainage, paving, and utilities, while ensuring compliance with local regulations and integrating stormwater management solutions. The role also involves collaboration with multidisciplinary teams, preparation of specifications and contract documents, and support for securing permits and approvals. Complex assignments require sound judgment in selecting and adapting engineering methods, and the engineer will make critical design decisions as needed. • Design site plans, grading, drainage, paving, and utility layouts for civil projects • Develop stormwater management designs, calculations, and compliance reports • Coordinate with engineering disciplines and architectural leads • Prepare specifications and contract documentation • Assist in obtaining site development approvals and permits • Perform quantity take‑offs and cost estimating as needed • Execute complex assignments using sound engineering judgment • Make decisions on critical design and engineering procedures

What You Bring

Preferred candidates bring 4–6 years of focused civil‑site design experience and proficiency with tools such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, HydroCad, and Microsoft Office. Required qualifications include a Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, a professional PE or P.Eng license, and demonstrated leadership and communication abilities. Strong written and verbal skills, as well as a commitment to HDR’s employee‑owned culture, are essential. • 4–6 years of civil‑site design experience • Proficient with Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, Civil 3D, HydroCad • Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering • Demonstrated leadership and strong communication skills • Excellent verbal and written communication
