About the Role

MG2, an affiliate of Colliers Engineering & Design, is seeking a Senior Project Accountant to serve as a collaborative resource for the Finance and Accounting team. The role involves providing accurate data, responding to inquiries, and helping resolve issues in support of MG2’s accounting goals. The Senior Project Accountant will perform duties with a contextual understanding of financial performance and reporting, ensuring data integrity and correct cost allocation. Responsibilities include reviewing financial data to identify budget variances, reconciling cost discrepancies, responding to principals and project managers, improving workflow efficiency, educating architectural staff, and building partnerships during weekly and monthly account review meetings. The accountant also supports special financial projects and participates in continuous process improvement documentation. • Ensure accurate allocation and integrity of project cost data in the accounting system • Analyze financial reports to identify budget variances and mitigate financial risk • Reconcile cost accounting discrepancies and respond to principal and manager inquiries • Streamline workflows and document continuous process improvements • Educate and support architectural staff on project financial performance • Partner with project teams during weekly and monthly account review meetings • Provide research and data for special financial projects

What You Bring

Candidates must have a minimum of three years of project accounting and invoicing experience, preferably in the AEC industry, and hold a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or an equivalent qualification. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, strong attention to detail, excellent communication, and the ability to collaborate with architectural teams are required. Experience with Deltek ERP and third‑party expense and invoice approval software is preferred, along with full comprehension of project accounting principles. • Minimum 3 years of project accounting/invoicing experience, preferably in AEC • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or equivalent experience • Proficient in Microsoft Office; experience with Deltek ERP and third‑party expense software preferred • Strong communication, detail‑orientation, and collaborative skills

Compensation ranges from $95,000 to $120,000 per year, depending on qualifications.
