About the Role
• ASDEFCON Contract Management: Oversee support and software contracts, including changes, deliverables, performance, negotiations, and approvals. • Complex Procurement Leadership: Lead end‑to‑end procurement activities, develop ASDEFCON‑based contracts, and manage evaluation and risk documentation. • Commercial Risk & Compliance Oversight: Identify and manage commercial risks while ensuring adherence to Defence procurement policies and contract requirements. • Stakeholder Engagement & Advisory: Provide timely commercial advice to stakeholders and coordinate representation at key contract meetings. • Team Development & Collaboration: Support the development of APS commercial staff and participate in workshops, forums, and internal reporting activities. • Meaningful work: Help deliver critical Defence projects that protect Australia and shape its future.

What You Bring
Due to the nature of the work, candidates must currently hold and maintain a minimum Negative Vetting 1 security clearance, with some positions also requiring compliance with International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). The role demands a strong work ethic, a positive attitude, and a commitment to delivering high‑quality outcomes for our clients. • Materiel Procurement & Contract Management Expertise: Demonstrated experience managing complex procurement activities and contracts, including ASDEFCON or equivalent frameworks. • Commercial Risk & Probity Knowledge: Skilled in identifying and managing commercial risks with a strong understanding of Commonwealth probity requirements. • Regulatory & Policy Proficiency: Extensive knowledge of Commonwealth procurement legislation and frameworks, including the PGPA Act and CPRs. • Stakeholder & Communication Skills: Proven ability to manage stakeholder relationships and communicate effectively, both in writing and verbally. • Formal Qualifications & Team Capability: Holds relevant qualifications in procurement or contracting, with the ability to work independently or collaboratively under pressure. • Security Clearance Requirement: Must hold and maintain a minimum Negative Vetting 1 security clearance; may also need ITAR compliance.
