About the Role

The Painter position is located onsite at Stennis Space Center and involves performing all phases of painting. The Painter will be responsible for preparing, applying, and finishing paint on a variety of surfaces. • Paint various structural surfaces using brushes, rollers, and spray guns. • Remove old paint and prep surfaces as needed. • Mix colors or oils to achieve required consistency and shade. • Perform all phases of painting, including tape & float, sanding, texturing, and use of joint compounds. • Apply latex, oil‑base, epoxy paints, stains, and lacquers to doors, cabinets, and metal. • Operate airless sprayers and work from scaffolds, ladders, and paint booths.

What You Bring

The role requires adherence to safety protocols, including wearing required PPE such as steel‑toe shoes, safety glasses, hard hat, and gloves for extended periods, and tolerating extreme temperature conditions when necessary. Workers must follow strict safety guidelines and be prepared to work at heights and in confined spaces. • Hold a high school diploma or GED and a strong painting background. • Pass an asbestos medical exam and wear respirators when required. • Be a U.S. citizen with valid Real ID and able to provide required identification for NASA badge. • Communicate effectively in English, both spoken and written. • Pass pre‑employment background check and drug screening. • Demonstrate good organization, attention to detail, and ability to follow detailed instructions. • Meet physical demands: lift ≥30 lb, stand/walk ≥7 hrs, climb ladders, wear PPE, tolerate extreme temperatures.
