About the Role
The Groundman Transmission position is an entry‑level role focused on the construction, maintenance, and repair of electrical transmission systems. This role requires adherence to strict safety standards while working on both energized and de‑energized lines. • Perform new construction, maintenance, or repair on energized and de‑energized transmission lines safely. • String overhead wire and set poles and anchors. • Work with high‑voltage systems, following safety protocols to protect self and others. • Maintain company vehicles, equipment, and tools in good condition. • Follow proper company radio communication procedures. • Apply basic rigging, hand lines, and lineman knot‑tying techniques. • Use and maintain hand tools, chain saws, bush axes, and ladders safely. • Conduct DOT pre‑trip and post‑trip vehicle inspections. • Observe and wear required personal protective equipment (PPE). • Assist in pole framing, setting, removal, and structure assembly/disassembly. • Set up work zones, follow flag and tag procedures, and maintain minimum approach distances. • Execute basic bucket rescue/escape operations. • Work at heights and in confined spaces; climb various structures using proper tools. • Identify line‑work materials and use Kellum grips and hand lines appropriately. • Travel long distances on short notice and work extended periods at varied locations. • Work outdoors in inclement weather, including weekends, holidays, and overtime as required. • Follow all company safety rules and policies.

What You Bring
The job demands regular standing, walking, lifting over 50 lb, and the use of hands for handling tools and equipment. Employees work outdoors in varying weather conditions and are frequently exposed to fumes, loud noise, and moving mechanical parts at construction sites. • Perform basic de‑energized line work and understand induced voltage and grounding procedures. • Hold a valid Commercial Driver’s License and lift over 50 lb. • Demonstrate self‑motivation, teamwork, and a customer‑oriented attitude.
