About the Role

The Geotechnical Engineer will be part of the engineering and technical function within the civil work program organisation, reporting to the Geotechnical Manager, to manage the geotechnical risks, set up and endorse the geotechnical requirements on behalf of the SZC Client and ensure the requirements are being abided to by the Designers and Contractors. • Support onshore and offshore ground investigations. • Manage site trials and ground improvement activities. • Oversee earthworks and material testing. • Manage groundwater control and flood‑prevention measures. • Support foundations, marine works and tunnelling. • Assess ground movements near nuclear assets. • Maintain the digital ground model. • Oversee instrumentation and monitoring. • Coordinate with designers and delivery teams. • Engage with regulators and key stakeholders. • Safety first – champion a safe, diverse, inclusive workplace where everyone goes home safe and well. • Client focus – deliver quality outcomes, own deliverables and build long‑term client relationships. • Create opportunity – foster continuous improvement, inspire people to develop and excel.
