About the Role

As a Structural Engineer, you will apply your expertise to develop efficient, resilient designs for large‑scale projects in health, civic, education, and science/technology sectors. Working closely with multidisciplinary teams, you will ensure design integrity, mentor junior staff, and guide projects from concept through construction. This role offers the opportunity to lead innovation and leave a lasting legacy of engineering excellence. • Perform building gravity and lateral analysis; design steel, concrete, and masonry structural systems. • Model building elements using Revit. • Design engineering systems for large, complex projects in health, civic, education, and science/technology sectors. • Review and resolve interdisciplinary conflicts in structural documents. • Mentor junior staff on contract documentation, calculations, and code interpretation. • Develop drawings, write/edit specifications, select materials and sizes, interpret code provisions, and complete calculations. • Communicate effectively with all project disciplines and participate in quality control reviews. • Respond to RFIs, change proposals, shop drawings, and change orders during construction, updating project documents accordingly.

What You Bring

• Hold a Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering and a professional engineering license (PE or P.Eng). • Demonstrate proficiency with Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, RISA, Staad, SAP, Tedds, RAM, ETABS, SAFE, or similar software. • Possess prior experience in an architectural/engineering consulting firm as a structural engineer. • Show commitment to HDR’s employee‑owned culture and collaborative environment. • Preferred: Master’s degree in Civil/Structural or Architectural Engineering with structural emphasis; SE certification; local candidate preference.
