About the Role

The position requires interpreting blueprints, ISO field installations, material takeoffs and field sketches, fabricating and installing various types of pipe and tubing, and performing tasks such as mitering, beveling, and installing pipe penetrations, valves, hangers, supports, underground pipe, and steam/heat tracing. The Pipefitter also assists other craft workers as needed. • Read and interpret blueprints, ISO field installations, material takeoffs, and field sketches. • Fabricate and install screw pipe, socket weld pipe, stainless tubing, carbon steel and stainless steel weld pipe. • Miter, bevel, and lay out pipe penetrations for welding and installation. • Install piping in pipe racks, including valves, hangers, supports, underground pipe, and steam/heat tracing. • Perform proper bolt‑up of various pipe and valve flange sizes. • Assist other craft workers as needed. • Lift, push, pull, or carry up to 50 lb (occasionally 100 lb) and perform repetitive hand/arm tasks. • Climb and maintain balance on steel/wood frameworks, ladders, scaffolds, and uneven surfaces. • Work in confined spaces and exposed to adverse weather conditions. • Operate electric, gas, and pneumatic hand/power tools safely. • Communicate effectively with supervisors and read/write safety instructions. • Apply math calculations and detailed observation for accurate work. • Make decisions and maintain focus amid distractions.

What You Bring

The Pipefitter must be skilled in test piping systems, oxygen and acetylene cutting, basic rigging, and the operation of pneumatic and electric tools, as well as leak‑test tubing systems. They are expected to learn all relevant safety hazards and use equipment safely, working either in plant operations or on construction job sites. The role demands significant physical stamina, including lifting up to 50 lb (occasionally 100 lb), climbing, balancing on scaffolds, and working in diverse weather and terrain conditions, sometimes in confined spaces. Strong communication, math, decision‑making, and attention to detail are essential for safe and effective performance.
