About the Role
The Mechatronics & Robotics Technician supports the Operations Maintenance team by repairing and maintaining material handling equipment and pneumatic systems throughout the building. This role also involves installing, maintaining, and servicing automated packaging and distribution equipment while mentoring junior technicians. Daily responsibilities include promoting a safe work environment, completing preventive maintenance routines with proper documentation, and troubleshooting electrical and mechanical problems on material handling equipment such as belts, motors, sensors, and relays. The technician tracks inventory, moves up to 49 lb, stands and walks during shifts of up to 12 hours, and may travel up to 20 % of the time. • Perform preventive maintenance and document procedures on material handling equipment. • Diagnose and repair electrical and mechanical issues in belts, motors, sensors, relays, and pneumatic systems. • Install, maintain, and service automated packaging and distribution machinery. • Mentor and train junior technicians to develop their technical skills. • Manage inventory using a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) and ensure compliance with OEM safety standards. • Handle physical demands including lifting up to 49 lb, standing/walking 12‑hour shifts, and working in confined or noisy environments.

What You Bring
Required qualifications are a high school diploma or equivalent, 2+ years of experience repairing material handling equipment, and the ability to work flexible schedules, including weekends, nights, and holidays. Preferred qualifications include an associate degree in mechanical or electrical fields, experience with automated conveyor systems, blueprint reading, CMMS, and robotic or electromechanical maintenance. The position demands repetitive bending, crouching, kneeling, reaching, twisting, and lifting parts averaging 20 lb (occasionally up to 49 lb). Working conditions may involve small spaces, dust, fumes, temperature extremes, noise, vibration, concrete flooring, heights, and handling bulky equipment. This full‑time, on‑site role is located in Ankeny, IA, and does not provide visa sponsorship; candidates must be authorized to work in the United States.
