About the Role
Senior Project Engineers ensure all project tasks from proposal to final invoice are completed, either personally or via subordinates, while providing consultation, attending meetings, and embodying ECS core values with a positive customer service attitude. They oversee the preparation and review of geotechnical reports and geostructural designs from junior staff, manage geotechnical engineering projects—including borehole layouts, utility clearances, drill rig supervision, in‑situ testing, soil classification, laboratory testing, and report preparation—and lead geostructural design projects such as MSE walls, soil‑nail walls, pile and lagging walls, temporary excavation supports, deep foundations, ground improvement, and dewatering. The role includes preparing and reviewing proposals, supervising daily report reviews, mentoring and training junior staff, collaborating with other managers on staffing decisions, and serving as the primary contact for clients and project meetings. Expectations cover business development through weekly client interaction, marketing, and industry leadership; training and verification of software calculations; technical leadership; maintaining billable productivity; senior review of field reports; invoicing, collections, contract management, profit monitoring, and oversight of ALF cleanup. Additional duties involve weekly staff and principal meetings, safety participation and compliance, proposal and contract review, and people management through goal setting, performance evaluations, and timecard approval. • Ensure completion of all project phases from proposal to final payment, overseeing subordinates as needed. • Lead and review geotechnical reports and geostructural designs, managing borehole layouts, field testing, and soil classification. • Supervise design of earth‑retention systems, deep foundations, ground improvement and dewatering solutions. • Prepare and evaluate project proposals, conduct daily report reviews, and resolve technical issues. • Mentor, train, and develop junior engineers and field staff. • Drive business development through weekly client engagement, marketing activities, and industry leadership roles. • Maintain billable productivity, manage invoicing, collections, contracts, and profit margins. • Conduct weekly meetings with staff, principals, and clients to coordinate workloads and project status. • Promote and enforce ECS safety policies, participate in audits, and report hazards promptly. • Perform people‑management tasks: set goals, give performance feedback, and approve timecards.

What You Bring
Candidates need 5+ years of relevant experience, a BS/MS in civil, geological engineering or a related field, a PE license (or ability to obtain within three months), a valid driver’s license, strong communication, project management, business development, and deep knowledge of geotechnical and construction‑materials principles, software, and design projects in power, energy, and transportation sectors.
