About the Role

Mortenson is currently seeking an Ironworker Journeyman who will be responsible for marking, positioning, and securing structural steel members to reinforce concrete or building structures. The role involves a variety of tasks related to the installation and maintenance of rebar, wire mesh, and ornamental ironwork on construction sites. • Set up, flag, and inspect crane and rigging. • Run site level and verify truck deliveries against bill of lading. • Count and direct unloading of rebar, dobies, and wire mesh. • Shake out, organize, and tie rebar intersections with tie wire. • Splice mats or rebar sections using dowels; cut excess with gas cut saw or torch. • Install mechanical rebar splices by bolting or welding; add caps on vertical dowels for safety. • Determine reinforcing rod layout from drawings or instructions; bend rods with hand tools or bending machine. • Reinforce concrete with wire mesh and install prefabricated ornamental ironwork. • Receive and offload major components; install loose components for nacelle, hub, and tower preparation. • Connect blades to hub, set base and tower sections, and handle taglines. • Assist with main erection crane assembly and teardown; climb ladders up to approximately 80 m. • Build relationships with diverse team members and perform all other assigned duties. • Read and interpret safety regulations, manuals, and perform basic mathematical calculations. • Perform repetitive hand, arm, and leg movements; lift up to 50 lb (or lift over 50 lb with assistance or equipment).

Benefits

The base hourly pay ranges from $51.85 to $64.56, with higher rates for certain locations (e.g., Denver, Chicago, Seattle, Portland, Washington, D.C.). The position does not offer visa sponsorship and candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
