About the Role

The Senior Precon and Estimating Manager provides overall direction and leadership for the collaborative preconstruction process and delivery, all in support of JE Dunn’s strategy, vision, and values. • Lead the overall preconstruction process to deliver competitive bids, proposals, cost estimates, analysis, and budgets. • Prepare and execute project win strategies, including interview preparation and internal/external presentations. • Oversee project teams to ensure successful execution and completion of preconstruction activities. • Manage relationships with key clients and design team contacts during the preconstruction phase. • Perform estimating tasks as needed, including self‑perform estimating and creation of conceptual budgets. • Report accurate project cost history and partner with operations to assess risk, scoring, and completion. • Review project business plans with stakeholders to ensure alignment and profitability. • Promote a culture of diversity and inclusion, ensuring proactive implementation of non‑discrimination policies. • Make decisions within defined authority and consult the supervisor on other decisions. • Read and interpret drawings and specifications and prepare quantity surveys. • Develop general requirements estimates and apply knowledge of construction management methods, field operations, trades, and labor productivity. • Develop proficiency in Lens, Revit, ASE software, and Lean processes. • Build collaborative relationships within internal and external teams.

What You Bring

The role requires a valid, unrestricted driver’s license, ability to lift up to 10 pounds, occasional overnight travel, and willingness to work non‑traditional hours to meet project needs. The office environment is typical but may expose employees to extreme conditions, with frequent sitting and computer work and occasional standing, walking, and physical activities. • Demonstrate accurate, timely work performance with strong verbal and written communication skills. • Utilize MS Office, especially Excel, and construction estimating software proficiently. • Understand MBE, WBE, and SBA regulations and incorporate them into project planning. • Hold a bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience). • Bring 10+ years of construction estimating experience; people management experience is preferred. • Maintain a valid, unrestricted driver’s license, be able to lift up to 10 lb, travel overnight, and work flexible hours as needed.
