About the Role

• Perform new construction, maintenance, and repair of energized and de‑energized overhead work safely. • Lead crew members in the absence of the foreman. • String overhead wire and set poles and anchors. • Install transformers, lightning arrestors, cutouts, crossarms, insulators, switches, and switchgear. • Troubleshoot primary and secondary systems and replace cutout fuses. • Identify primary and secondary voltage and understand induced voltage and grounding procedures. • Properly install and remove personal protective equipment (PPE) and cover‑ups. • Phase out lines using phasing sticks and obtain a one‑shot on a recloser. • Conduct pre‑job or tailgate briefings and plan safe work based on job prints or work orders. • Perform reconductoring, install and remove mechanical jumpers, and use a load‑bust tool. • Maintain company vehicles, equipment, and tools in good working order. • Travel long distances on short notice and work extended periods at various locations. • Lift more than 50 lb and inspect rubber goods and PPE regularly. • Follow all company safety rules and policies.

What You Bring

The Class A Lineman is a skilled position in the construction, maintenance and repair of electrical overhead distribution systems. This role works at various locations and may require travel to other states depending on customer demands. Physical demands include regular talking, hearing, standing, walking, using hands and reaching, and the ability to lift more than 50 lb. The job often requires working outdoors in inclement weather and at heights or confined spaces. • Clear faulted circuits and systems while working with high‑voltage equipment. • Work at heights and in confined spaces, climbing wood or steel structures with appropriate tools. • Communicate effectively in English and obtain a Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) permit within 60 days. • Willingness to work overtime, weekends, holidays, and in inclement weather as required. • Demonstrate self‑motivation, teamwork, and customer‑oriented attitude.
