About the Role

The Officer maintains safety and emissions inspection station compliance by performing audits, appointing or canceling stations, investigating station activities, serving suspensions on stations or technicians, responding to consumer complaints, and testifying in Departmental hearings across Philadelphia and surrounding counties. • Complete and maintain Safety Inspection Mechanic Certification and Certified Emission Inspector Certification (company‑paid) • Read and interpret state and government regulations for station inspections

Parsons is seeking a talented Vehicle Inspection Station Compliance Officer to join our Pennsylvania Emissions Team supporting the Pennsylvania DOT. This self‑managed role offers a reliable Monday‑Friday schedule, with most work conducted on the road at vehicle repair stations or from home, and includes paid mileage. The position requires a high school diploma or equivalent, a valid clean driver’s license, and the ability to obtain and maintain Safety Inspection Mechanic and Certified Emission Inspector certifications paid for by the company. Physical demands include handling objects up to 50 lb and continuous driving up to 90 minutes in varying temperatures. • High School diploma or equivalent • Valid, clean driver’s license • Ability to lift up to 50 lb, sit/stand frequently, drive up to 90 minutes, and work in hot/cold shop environments • Strong computer skills and proficiency with office and company‑provided equipment • Work independently with minimal supervision after training • Understand mechanical components and basic math • Effective communication: public interaction and accurate documentation of violations • Automotive knowledge not required; training provided • Previous auditing or investigative experience beneficial
