About the Role

Responsibilities include civil design, permitting, and using hydrology modeling, storm‑drainage software, AutoCAD, and Civil 3D, as well as research, coordination, staff management, cost estimating, bid‑package preparation, and technical specifications, with on‑the‑job training and mentorship provided. • Perform site development engineering and project management for land‑development projects. • Complete civil design, permitting, and modeling using hydrology, storm‑drainage, AutoCAD, and Civil 3D. • Conduct research, coordination, cost estimating, and prepare bid packages and technical specifications. • Provide staff management and receive on‑the‑job training, mentorship, and exposure to project financials and client interactions.

Kimley-Horn's Boca-Delray, Florida office is seeking a Civil Engineer-in-Training (EIT) with more than two years of experience to join their Land Development team. This position is on-site and not remote. Candidates must have at least two years of experience with a civil engineering design firm, a bachelor's or master's degree from an ABET‑accredited program, and an Engineer‑In‑Training or Engineering Intern certification (or the ability to obtain it within 12 months). Required skills include proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D, strong verbal and written communication, urgency, self‑initiative, detail orientation, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team. • 2+ years experience with a civil engineering design firm. • Bachelor's or Master's in Civil Engineering from an ABET‑accredited institution. • EIT or Engineering Intern certification (or ability to obtain within 12 months). • Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D; strong verbal, written, and interpersonal skills. • Demonstrated urgency, self‑initiative, detail‑orientation, and ability to work independently and collaboratively.
