About the Role

This role involves working on a range of Built Environment CFD applications, including wind comfort, atmospheric dispersion, fire dynamics modelling, hydrodynamics modelling, HVAC/thermal comfort, and data centre analysis. These applications address critical performance and safety considerations for modern infrastructure. • Lead CFD modelling for high‑profile built environment projects in the UK and internationally. • Perform analyses in wind comfort, atmospheric dispersion, fire dynamics, hydrodynamics, HVAC/thermal comfort, and data centre environments. • Liaise with design teams, architects, and clients to deliver tailored CFD solutions. • Apply CFD and general engineering expertise to a diverse range of problems. • Create geometry for simulations using CAD tools such as Rhino or Inventor. • Develop scripts in Python and leverage Linux‑based HPC resources, including cloud platforms.

What You Bring

A little more about your role… As part of our ongoing growth strategy, WSP is looking for an experienced CFD Modelling Engineer to join our team in London, Manchester, or Leeds to support and lead modelling efforts on high‑profile projects in the UK and internationally. The successful candidate will have prior CFD consulting experience, be confident in liaising with design teams, architects, and clients, and possess a proven track record in applying CFD and general engineering skills to diverse problems. WSP operates across virtually every sector of the Built Environment, offering a truly diverse workload that can be tailored to individual strengths and preferences. We are looking for candidates who have experience in a CFD consultancy environment and hold a postgraduate degree (PhD, MSc, MEng) in CFD or a related field such as Aeronautics, Mechanical Engineering, Fire Engineering, or Sustainable Design. Proficiency with CAD packages for geometry creation (e.g., Rhino, Inventor) and familiarity with CFD software such as OpenFOAM, STAR‑CCM+/ANSYS Fluent, or Fire Dynamics Simulator is required. Experience with Python or other programming languages, as well as Linux and on‑premises or cloud‑based HPC systems, is considered an advantage. • Utilize CFD software like OpenFOAM, STAR‑CCM+/ANSYS Fluent, and Fire Dynamics Simulator.
