About the Role
In this role the manager will oversee the execution of rail‑related projects, ensuring planning, quality, schedule, and budget goals are met while providing client‑manager support and assisting the Department Manager with rail‑engineering deliverables. • Ensure successful project execution, covering planning, quality assurance, scheduling, and financial oversight. • Plan, design, and direct assigned rail projects and support the Department Manager with engineering deliverables. • Manage bridge, culvert and site‑work projects for Class 1, short‑line, passenger and freight rail. • Serve as client manager for rail‑discipline projects and market services in other disciplines. • Prepare proposals, including assumptions, scope, and budgets. • Negotiate project contracts, terms and conditions. • Supervise staff, set goals, evaluate performance, and support professional development. • Perform occasional field work and bridge inspections as needed.

What You Bring
Ideal candidates hold a bachelor's degree in civil or structural engineering, a PE license, and more than ten years of railroad bridge engineering and project‑management experience, preferably in Class 1 and short‑line environments, with a record of business development and staff mentorship. • Bachelor’s degree in civil or structural engineering. • Professional Engineer (PE) license. • At least 10 years of railroad bridge engineering and project‑management experience. • Experience with Class 1 and short‑line freight rail environments. • Proven business development, client‑relation and staff‑mentoring abilities. • Strong analytical, detail‑oriented judgment and communication skills. • Ability to pass 49 CFR Part 219 drug and alcohol testing. • Valid driver’s license and proficiency in English.
