About the Role
• Lead and supervise field survey crews, assigning tasks and overseeing work. • Plan and execute efficient data acquisition for primary control and various survey tasks. • Operate, maintain, calibrate, and troubleshoot total stations, GPS receivers, and other surveying equipment. • Research land records and legal documents to determine property boundaries. • Establish boundary markers and reference points using high‑accuracy techniques. • Conduct traverses, level loops, and topographic surveys, maintaining accurate notes and sketches. • Communicate daily with project surveyors and CAD technicians on schedule and progress. • Enforce safety protocols, proper PPE usage, and safe driving practices on site. • Transfer collected field data to computer systems and ensure data quality through QC checks. • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and clients to meet project requirements and provide updates. • Preserve detailed field documentation and maintain company truck and equipment. • Pursue continuing education and stay updated on surveying technology and best practices.

What You Bring
Candidates must have a High School diploma or GED, with an associate or bachelor’s degree in surveying, geomatics, or a related field considered a plus, plus at least five years of land‑surveying experience and a minimum of two years as a party chief. Proficiency in operating and maintaining surveying equipment and software, as well as strong knowledge of boundary determination and topographic mapping, is required.
