About the Role
The Environmental Services (ES) Field Technician I works under close supervision, receiving detailed work instructions and applying basic judgment to resolve routine issues. This role involves troubleshooting basic problems and identifying deviations from accepted practices, while performing operational functions related to emergency response, hazardous and non‑hazardous spill clean‑up, and hazmat decontamination. Technicians perform a range of remedial activities such as tank cleaning, oil spill cleanup, drum handling, decontamination, sweeping, shoveling, high‑pressure washing, and confined‑space entry tasks. They respond to customer spills and emergencies both during normal business hours and after hours, maintain general housekeeping, and ensure equipment and work sites are kept in good condition. All work is performed safely and in compliance with relevant safety policies and regulations. • Perform tank cleaning, oil spill cleanup, drum handling, decontamination, sweeping, shoveling, high‑pressure washing, and confined‑space remedial tasks. • Respond to customer spills and emergencies during business hours and after hours. • Conduct general housekeeping and equipment maintenance. • Safely set up and operate pumps, trailer‑mounted generators, air compressors, light towers, pallet‑jacks, and skid steers. • Follow all safety policies and regulations in every activity. • Read and comprehend operational, technical, safety, and quality documents. • Provide input on practices to meet departmental goals and report unsafe conditions. • Use tablets, PCs, hand tools, and shop instruments with accuracy and attention to detail. • Prioritize tasks, stay focused, and manage multiple responsibilities simultaneously. • Lift or move objects up to 50 lb.

What You Bring
Preferred qualifications include the ability to read, write, and comprehend operational, technical, process, safety, and quality documents, as well as knowledge of chemicals and safety data sheets. Candidates should demonstrate a positive attitude, mental resilience, and willingness to provide input on working practices, report unsafe conditions, and adhere to company policies. Proficiency with light tablet/PC use, hand and shop tools, and attention to detail are also required. Minimum qualifications call for 0–2 years of relevant experience, familiarity with light and heavy equipment, and the ability to respond to hazardous and non‑hazardous emergencies. Applicants must be able to pass a 40‑hour HAZWOPER training program upon hire and be capable of moving objects up to 50 lb. A current confined‑space entry certificate (or ability to obtain one) and a valid driver’s license may be required depending on the location. • Understand chemical safety data sheets and apply appropriate hazard mitigation steps. • Hold or obtain a confined‑space entry certificate and possess a valid driver’s license when required. • Possess 0‑2 years of relevant experience and ability to pass 40‑hour HAZWOPER training.
