About the Role
This role is pivotal in providing comprehensive technical leadership to cloud‑enabled products, with a focus on IoT and connected devices. In this senior position, the architect will be responsible for driving Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) optimization for cloud solutions, ensuring that the architecture meets technical requirements while aligning with financial objectives. The role demands a deep understanding of cloud economics, cost management, and the ability to make strategic decisions that balance performance with cost efficiency. The Senior Cloud Architect will lead the design and strategic planning of cloud‑based solutions for IoT and connected devices, setting technical direction, defining architectural standards, and ensuring solutions are robust and future‑proof. The architect will work closely with cross‑functional teams to align cloud architecture with business objectives and technical requirements, ensuring a cohesive and strategic approach to product development. The role requires a strong focus on innovation and continuous improvement. The Senior Cloud Architect will drive adoption of best practices, new technologies, and innovative solutions to enhance performance, security, and scalability of cloud architectures. This includes staying abreast of industry trends, participating in relevant forums, and fostering a culture of continuous learning within the team. Effective collaboration and stakeholder management are critical to success. The Senior Cloud Architect will work closely with product managers, developers, and other stakeholders to define technical requirements and deliver high‑quality solutions. The architect will also provide mentorship and technical guidance to junior architects and engineers, fostering a collaborative, high‑performing team environment. Ensuring security and compliance of cloud solutions is a top priority. The Senior Cloud Architect will implement robust security measures, conduct regular security audits, and ensure adherence to data‑privacy regulations and compliance standards. What You Bring
A Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Electrical, or Electronics is required, with a Master’s preferred. Required certifications include Azure Architecture and Microsoft Certified Azure Solution Architect, alongside 15‑20 years of software design and development experience and 8+ years with Microsoft cloud technologies. The candidate should have expertise in cloud application design, solid software industry experience, technical leadership for globally distributed teams, and strong knowledge of software design principles, algorithms, design patterns, and secure coding. Experience collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to enhance engineering deliverables, and knowledge of modeling languages such as ArchiMate, are advantageous. A solid understanding of software quality assurance principles, design patterns, secure coding, and cybersecurity best practices is required, as is the ability to envision future‑proof, upgradable solutions and monetize software features. Proven ability to drive process frameworks (e.g., CMMI), manage requirements, defects, builds, changes, CI/CD, and configuration using tools like Jira and Git is essential, and familiarity with Software FMEA and DFSS is a plus. • Hold a Bachelor’s (Master’s preferred) in Computer Science, Electrical, or Electronics • Possess Azure Architecture certifications and 15‑20 years of software design experience • Demonstrate 8+ years of expertise with Microsoft cloud technologies and Azure solution architecture • Leverage modeling languages (e.g., ArchiMate) and knowledge of Software FMEA/DFSS as a plus
