About the Role
Key duties include performing service and maintenance work on lifts and escalators in line with job procedures, technical articles and operations manuals, and providing after‑call‑back coverage when required. The technician will attend breakdowns, carry out repairs, re‑roping, hoisting and rigging, and execute upgrades that meet the SAA Lift Code AS1735 and relevant awards or agreements. Additional responsibilities are to identify process‑improvement opportunities, train apprentices and subcontractors, and log leads using Otis‑provided applications. • Perform service, maintenance, and repair on lifts and escalators according to manuals and codes. • Provide after‑call‑back coverage and respond to breakdowns, including re‑roping, hoisting, and rigging. • Identify and drive process‑improvement opportunities to enhance customer satisfaction. • Train apprentices and subcontractors on electrical and mechanical tasks. • Liaise with customers, submit leads via Otis applications, and maintain stakeholder relationships. • Ensure work complies with SAA Lift Code AS1735 and relevant enterprise agreements.

What You Bring
The successful candidate will be based in Brisbane’s CBD portfolio and work closely with installers, electricians, adjusters, trade assistants, field engineers and construction coordinators. The role involves collaborating with internal teams such as service mechanics, branch and operations managers, as well as external stakeholders including customers, building owners and suppliers. Applicants must hold electrical and/or fitter qualifications, preferably with a lift apprenticeship or industry‑accredited training, and have two to five years of experience in the lift industry. A valid driver’s licence, extensive electrical and mechanical knowledge of large equipment, strong fault‑finding and problem‑solving skills, and the ability to transfer knowledge through training are essential. Candidates should also demonstrate proficient English communication, intermediate technology skills (mobile apps, Word, Excel, email), and a safety‑first mindset. • Hold electrical/fitter qualifications and 2‑5 years lift industry experience. • Possess a valid driver’s licence and strong mechanical/electrical knowledge. • Demonstrate problem‑solving, knowledge‑transfer, and a safety‑first mindset. • Use mobile apps, Word, Excel, and email proficiently.
