About the Role
Key responsibilities include identifying project assumptions, conducting qualitative and quantitative risk assessments, developing mitigation plans, and monitoring risk status. The Risk Manager will integrate risk management with scope, schedule, cost and benefits, and provide regular reports to senior leadership. Collaboration with cross‑functional teams and facilitation of workshops are required to address complex risk challenges. • Identify and document key project assumptions and assess their impact on outcomes. • Proactively evaluate financial, operational, and regulatory risks across programmes and projects. • Conduct qualitative risk assessments to prioritize likelihood and impact of identified risks. • Perform quantitative cost and schedule risk analysis to determine cumulative exposure. • Develop and implement mitigation strategies in collaboration with stakeholders. • Monitor risk and assumption status and provide regular updates to senior management. • Prepare detailed risk reports summarizing findings, mitigation efforts, and recommendations. • Integrate risk management with scope, schedule, cost, and benefits management functions. • Facilitate workshops and discussions to devise innovative solutions for complex risk challenges. • Ensure compliance with GBN policies and nuclear industry regulations in all risk activities. • Lead initiatives to improve risk management processes and stay informed on best practices. • Use @risk and Safran tools for cost and schedule risk analysis. • Utilize risk management software for data evaluation and reporting.

What You Bring
The Risk Manager will support delivery of the SMR Project by identifying, assessing and managing project risks. The role requires a strategic thinker with strong analytical skills who can communicate complex risk concepts effectively. Accountability for risk‑management outcomes and problem‑solving abilities are essential to develop and implement mitigation strategies. Candidates should hold a bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Risk Management, Finance, Business Administration or possess equivalent experience, and be a member of the Institute of Risk Management or similar professional body. Extensive knowledge of nuclear‑industry risk management, strong analytical and communication skills, and proven experience in cross‑functional teams are required. Proficiency with risk analysis tools such as @risk, Safran and other risk‑management software is essential. • Hold membership in the Institute of Risk Management or an equivalent professional body. • Demonstrate extensive knowledge of risk management principles specific to the nuclear sector.
