About the Role
As a Compliance Manager at HS2 you will be responsible for assuring all commitment compliance activities, managing the lifecycle of processes for Undertakings and Assurances (U&As), and collaborating with internal teams and the supply chain to ensure compliance. You will lead the development of compliance plans, ensure evidence is recorded, provide instruction to minimise risk, conduct assurance checks and audits, manage non‑compliance processes, contribute to reporting, and coordinate dispute resolution while maintaining a risk‑based approach across HS2 and its partners. • Assure all commitment compliance activities and manage the lifecycle of Undertakings & Assurances (U&As). • Project‑manage compliance processes with internal teams and the supply chain. • Develop, guide and record compliance plans to meet U&A requirements. • Provide instruction and facilitation to minimise risk and ensure effective change management. • Conduct assurance checks, audits and contribute to compliance reporting. • Follow non‑compliance procedures and coordinate dispute resolution. • Apply a risk‑based approach consistently across HS2 and its partners. • Deliver monitoring and reporting arrangements in a complex environment. • Engage stakeholders across public and private sectors with transparency and integrity. • Apply ISO 9001 auditing principles and risk methodology. • Manage high‑quality compliance management and reporting under tight timescales. • Provide counsel across the organisation and handle conflict and difficult scenarios. • Uphold HS2 values of Safety, Leadership, Integrity and Respect and promote EDI.

What You Bring
The role requires strong monitoring, reporting and compliance delivery skills, meticulous attention to detail, and the ability to communicate complex information clearly. Proficiency with Microsoft applications and preferably DOORS, knowledge of ISO 9001 auditing principles, and an understanding of risk methodology are essential. Candidates should have experience in high‑quality compliance management and reporting, providing organisational counsel, working in political or regulated environments, and project management at manager level. Conflict management, problem solving and effective time management are also needed. The post‑holder must embody HS2’s values of Safety, Leadership, Integrity and Respect and actively promote Equality, Diversity and Inclusion. Benefits
The role is based in Birmingham with a base salary ranging from £41,092 to around £48,344 per annum, dependent on skills and experience. In addition, a flexible benefits fund of 15% of base salary is provided, fully pensionable, alongside a range of competitive benefits.
