About the Role
With general direction and an understanding of accounting principles, the Area Accountant records, analyzes, and monitors financial information. The role prepares accurate financial reports that comply with company accounting policies and may serve as a resource for accounting and administrative staff, handling a broad array of accounting duties. Key duties include compiling and analyzing financial data to prepare journal entries and business transaction documentation, creating monthly and quarterly operational performance reports, and exercising discretion on significant matters. The accountant assists the Area Controller in establishing internal controls, ensuring compliance with Sarbanes‑Oxley and other statutory requirements, and may provide direction to functional areas such as invoicing, billing, cash receipts, and payroll. Responsibilities also encompass reconciliations, support for budgeting and forecasting, capital‑expenditure accounting, and participation in audits and information requests from various corporate departments. • Prepare journal entries, financial statements, and operational performance reports. • Maintain internal controls and ensure SOX and policy compliance. • Reconcile balance‑sheet accounts and analyze financial data per GAAP. • Support budgeting, interim forecasting, and capital‑expenditure accounting. • Assist with internal and external audits and respond to corporate information requests.

What You Bring
The position requires solid accounting experience, thorough knowledge of GAAP, and intermediate Excel skills. Candidates must demonstrate initiative in researching non‑standard situations, possess strong analytical and organizational abilities, and effectively manage multiple tasks to meet deadlines with minimal supervision. Experience with general ledger software, particularly Oracle, and the ability to communicate professionally across all organization levels are essential. • Knowledge of GAAP and intermediate Microsoft Excel proficiency. • Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills with ability to work independently. • Experience with general ledger systems, preferably Oracle accounting software.

Benefits
The pay range for this position is $56,400 to $77,550, adjusted for locality, and is open to candidates living anywhere in the United States.
