About the Role
A laborer/Fire watch will assist with various manual needs of the construction work being performed at a new construction site, including moving equipment, digging, retrieving equipment, standing by for fire safety, and any other work instructed by a supervisor or journeyman. • Perform manual tasks such as moving and digging equipment, retrieving tools, and fire‑watch duties. • Operate fire extinguishers when needed. • Climb onto structures and scaffolding safely. • Follow supervisor directions. • Apply problem‑solving skills and manual dexterity. • Uphold Zachry values and safety regulations. • Use hand dexterity for precise adjustments of equipment. • Perform physical tasks such as pushing, pulling, and handling tools. • Work at heights, ladders, stairs, and platforms as required. • Work outdoors in all weather conditions for up to 12 hours per day.

What You Bring
• Possess reliable transportation and availability to work any day. • Pass pre‑employment health and drug screening. • Demonstrate basic knowledge of hand and power tools. • Read and comprehend job instructions. • Work effectively as a team player. • Communicate clearly with coworkers and supervisors. • Preferably be a former or ROF’ed Zachry employee with mechanical knowledge. • Experience on industrial construction sites and technical education is a plus. • Stand, walk, bend, squat, and lift frequently; lift up to 50 lb. • Communicate verbally and audibly on site. • Maintain visual acuity for short and long distances. • Wear required PPE, including hard hat, safety glasses, hearing protection, respirator, vest, gloves, and steel‑toe boots.
