About the Role
In this role, the STMS will oversee the implementation of temporary traffic management plans, manage the set‑up and pack‑down of road closures and diversions, and lead toolbox and closure briefings, ensuring clear communication and safety for all crew, subcontractors and the public. • Ensure accurate implementation of temporary traffic management plans and oversee road closure set‑up and pack‑down. • Lead toolbox and closure briefings, providing clear job details to the traffic management team. • Train and upskill Traffic Controllers and junior STMS staff. • Maintain safety for Downer crew, subcontractors and the general public.

What You Bring
The position requires a can‑do attitude, strong leadership and people skills, and the ability to motivate and train Traffic Controllers and junior STMS staff. Preferred qualifications include an STMS Cat A/B practising licence or warrant and a Class 1 New Zealand driver’s licence. • Hold an STMS Cat A/B practising licence or warrant (preferred). • Possess a Class 1 New Zealand driver’s licence (Class 2 beneficial). • Demonstrate reliability, problem‑solving abilities and strong people skills.
