About the Role
The Equipment Commissioning Manager (EqCM) supports the Equipment North America organization on startup, warranty, and coordination with other service needs. Reporting initially to the Regional Service Manager and later to the Branch Service Manager, the EqCM has accountability to the HVAC Equipment Operations Manager and works closely with the Customer Resource Coordinator to meet field service labor requirements and serve as the single point of contact for equipment contract service scope. • Support EqNA sales during project estimates by determining if service can be performed as S/R or requires a Service Mechanical project. • Provide custom quotes for service items outside the PCAT policy. • Verify branch technicians are trained for contracted equipment and coordinate training with the Truck Based Service Manager. • Attend RTO meetings for complex or PSA‑related projects and identify service/warranty concerns. • Validate PSA details with the SAE/Agent Project Owner and supply required documentation. • Conduct weekly service turnover meetings with SAEs and the Branch Operations Manager to coordinate current and future service scopes. • Introduce Connected Service capabilities to customers. • Coordinate scheduled work and schedule changes directly with the EqNA customer. • Ensure asset records are created in NxGen and assigned to the correct site for future service requests and quotes. • Manage FOB Destination deliveries with technicians, communicating updates to the SAE and customer. • Verify warranty information in Warranty Navigator and resolve discrepancies with the SAE and Warranty Admin team. • Monitor Long‑Term Storage requirements and coordinate with the SAE and customer. • Promote use of Pronto Forms for pre‑startup checklists, technician inspections, and warranty work. • Ensure startup is completed, resolve any issues, and provide customers with startup documentation. • Record startup dates in NxGen and register started equipment in Warranty Navigator, providing warranty certification to the customer. • Ensure all service requests are invoiced promptly upon scope completion. • Act as the first point of contact for warranty requests, dispatching technicians and filing claims with the CRC and WSC. • Escalate and resolve issues that prevent warranty work completion, including parts and resource availability, and collaborate with technical support to accelerate cash collection. • Facilitate technical support for EqNA customers as needed.

What You Bring
• Require 10+ years of industry experience or a technical engineering/construction degree. • Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook), Adobe Writer, and basic Windows OS. • Ability to work independently and as part of a team. • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. • Strong interpersonal and collaborative abilities. • Good conflict‑resolution skills. • Represent Johnson Controls positively and communicate at varying technical levels. • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple diverse projects with professionalism and persistence. • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. • Preferred: BA in Engineering or Construction. • Preferred: Knowledge of HVAC equipment. • Preferred: Proficiency with MS Office Suite.
