About the Role

The Hose Assembler works under the supervision of the Sentry Cell Supervisor, assembling, crimping, and testing Sentry and similar hoses using blueprints, work instructions, and production orders. This role is responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining all equipment associated with hose assembly and for training proper hose‑assembly helpers. Key duties include verifying that correct parts are available, inspecting hoses and components for defects, setting up crimp and cutting machines with appropriate parameters, directing helpers, and ensuring proper crimp pressure and clear passage. After crimping, the assembler stamps or labels the hose, performs hydro‑testing to regulatory standards, documents test results, and maintains a clean, organized work area. Employees are required to comply with all environmental, health, and safety policies, attend safety training, report accidents immediately, use lock‑out tags after six months, and correctly handle hazardous chemicals, waste, and spills. They must also act as safety coaches to others who may be acting unsafely. • Assemble, crimp, and test Sentry hoses according to blueprints and production orders. • Set up, operate, and maintain crimp and hose‑cutting machines, adjusting programming as needed. • Inspect hoses, ferrules, couplings, and nozzle tips for defects and proper fit. • Direct helpers in component assembly and verify correct crimp pressure and clear passage. • Perform hydro‑testing to UL, ULC, SAA, and Ansul standards and document results. • Stamp or label assembled hoses with part numbers and maintain testing records. • Keep the work area organized, restock parts, and clean at the end of each shift. • Lift and move hose assemblies and components up to 50 lb repeatedly. • Follow all safety rules, attend training, report accidents, and use lock‑out tags after six months. • Recognize and properly handle hazardous chemical labels, waste, and spills.
