About the Role

The technician will conduct fieldwork for geotechnical subsurface investigations and geophysical surveys according to engineering instructions. Tasks include drilling, sampling, visual reconnaissance, soil and rock logging, as well as seismic and electrical resistivity surveys. The role also requires observing construction activities, performing material testing, and supporting additional engineering activities as needed. • Perform geotechnical drilling, sampling, soil/rock logging, and visual reconnaissance. • Conduct geophysical surveys such as seismic and electrical resistivity under project geophysicist direction. • Observe and document geotechnical construction activities and conduct material testing/inspection. • Assist with additional engineering tasks as required.

What You Bring

RRC is seeking a Field Geotechnical Technician/Geologist (Travel) for its Round Rock, TX headquarters. This full-time role supports the company’s work on renewable energy projects across the United States. Applicants must complete the entire application for consideration. Candidates must be willing to travel extensively (95-100% of the time) and relocate to Round Rock. A valid driver’s license, clean driving record, and proficiency with MS Office are required. Prior experience in outdoor field conditions, geotechnical drilling, and material testing is preferred, along with strong oral and written communication skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team. RRC complies with federal employment laws, requiring verification of identity and work eligibility. All qualified applicants will be considered without regard to protected characteristics. • Travel up to 95‑100% across U.S. sites and relocate to Round Rock, TX. • Proficient in MS Office; maintain a valid driver’s license with a clean record. • Prefer experience in outdoor field work, geotechnical drilling/sampling, and soil or concrete testing. • Demonstrate strong oral and written communication; able to work independently or lead teams.
