About the Role

The Commercial Maintenance Manager role at Cushman & Wakefield involves managing maintenance operations and infrastructure across a higher‑education campus, ensuring work orders are created, distributed, and completed on time while meeting quality standards. The manager will direct both in‑house and contracted resources to address immediate needs and projects, overseeing building automation systems, MEP diagnostics, and the use of CMMS to balance preventive maintenance with project work. • Oversee operation and maintenance of building automation systems for continuous utilities. • Diagnose and troubleshoot MEP system malfunctions to avoid failures. • Use CMMS to manage repairs, maintenance, and installations of tools and utility systems. • Balance routine preventive maintenance with project work to meet facility and client needs. • Review space and equipment plans and coordinate service requirements with clients or engineers. • Develop and supervise preventive maintenance programs for plant equipment (boilers, pumps, etc.). • Provide technical assistance and training to facilities maintenance staff. • Generate work‑order status reports for the Director of Buildings and Grounds. • Support departments with technical repairs and improvements. • Distribute daily and monthly work schedules and ensure quality assurance reporting. • Oversee project managers, architects, engineers, and contractors on improvement projects. • Communicate and ensure compliance with the Director of Environmental Health and Safety. • Manage procurement of service and preventive‑maintenance contracts. • Supervise, train, and lead maintenance personnel. • Maintain expertise with chillers, boilers, HVAC, BAS, life‑safety, and utility systems.

What You Bring

Candidates must have an associate degree or equivalent experience, 3‑5 years of supervisory facilities‑management experience (preferably in academia), and hands‑on knowledge of equipment such as chillers, boilers, HVAC, BAS, and life‑safety systems, along with strong computer and communication skills. • Require associate degree or equivalent experience; 3‑5 years supervisory facilities management experience. • Demonstrate strong customer service, leadership, and communication skills. • Ability to plan, prioritize, and manage time under pressure and meet deadlines. • Available for non‑standard hours and on‑call emergency response.
