About the Role

What You Bring

The role requires traveling throughout the province and may involve temporary assignments to support other areas. Employees must complete in‑house safety, environmental, vehicle operation, and other job‑related training, and actively participate in on‑the‑job skill development. Safety is a top priority; workers are responsible for personal and co‑worker safety, compliance with Occupational Health and Safety regulations, proactive risk assessment, and environmental performance under the EMS. Residence within 30 minutes of headquarters is required, and after‑hour emergency response may be needed. This is a safety‑sensitive position subject to Emera’s Alcohol and Drug Policy and pre‑employment testing. Successful candidates will have at least a Grade 12 education (or equivalent) with strong reading and writing abilities, and be capable of manual labour using common hand and power tools. Self‑motivation, teamwork, and the ability to work with minimal supervision are essential. A valid Nova Scotia driver’s licence with a minimum of two years’ driving experience and a satisfactory driver’s abstract are required; certification for off‑highway vehicles and trailer towing is considered an asset. Experience in communications, forestry, or utilities, as well as familiarity with the Environmental Management System, are advantageous. • Complete in‑house safety, environmental, vehicle operation, and job‑specific training. • Pass Emera Alcohol and Drug pre‑employment test. • Hold Grade 12 education (or equivalent) with strong reading and writing skills. • Possess a valid Nova Scotia driver’s licence with at least two years of experience and a satisfactory driver’s abstract. • Demonstrate self‑motivation, teamwork, and ability to work with minimal supervision. • Asset: experience in communications, forestry, utilities, or off‑highway vehicle certification.
